...I think I'll write another update. Okay, so I'm not quite sure how many will actually read this but it's worth a try. Coram Deo (school) is going pretty well. If some of you are not familiar with this, Coram Deo is the Christian private school in which I take several classes which are: Chemistry, History, Literature, and Drama. I am honored to wake up at six o'clock AM every Monday and Wednesday and then proceed to take a shower, eat breakfast (usually consisting of cereal) and decide my wardrobe for the day, usually consisting of khaki pants, dress shoes, belt, and a choice between a white and a blue uniform button-down (one of the more exciting parts of my day). At promptly seven-forty(ish), I leave. No, it doesn't take me that long to get ready, I simply like a lot of buffer time. My first class is Chemistry (which I detest) and immediately following is two study halls (which are actually kinda nice), then comes History, Lunch and finally Literature (which is really interesting). There are about seven or eight students that are with me in all my classes. What's with the bad guy rolls? Why do I always get cast as a bad guy? Let me explain: In the musical that I'm doing I was cast as 'PaPa Ge', the "sly demon of death." In the Shakespeare play at school I was re-cast from 'second merchant' to 'Dr. Pinch,' an exorcist. Consider this in light of my previous roles and you get a distorted view of my personality (that is, if you didn't know me). HEY GUESS WHAT! I GET TO VISIT BJU THIS WEEK AND SPEND THE WHOLE FOUR DAYS WITH SEAN ANDERSON! Yeah that should be fun, I leave this Wednesday. The weirdest thing happened a few weeks ago: we found a parakeet on our porch. We managed to catch it and we kept it in an old cat kennel (our cat died last year) and I tried to close up the bigger gaps in the door so it wouldn't escape. We sat and watched it for a while, but even interesting things get boring eventually, however Katie was still enamered by the new being. So she watched it after we all had retreated into the kitchen. It wasn't long until we heard a terrifying yell. It was unlike anything I had ever heard before, and I soon found out why: the bird had gotten out. We tried to calm a much disturbed and blubbering Katherine Billups who could say nothing except something about the bird getting out and landing on her back. So the rest of the time we had it she stayed far away from the kennel and screamed everytime the bird tried to get out by sticking its head out through the bars. At some expense, I had fun with that. Brianna is getting very proficient at playing piano and recieves compliments from nearly everyone who hears her play. Sean is also playing violin very well and is now playing with the worship team at church on Sunday mornings. If you saw my last post you know that I've been playing Zelda: Twilight Princess on Gamecube lately. What's odd though is that Katie likes to play it. She asked me once if she could play it and so I said "Sure I don't care." She then proceeded to sit directly in front of the TV, gripping the controller tightly, saying "I LOVE this game!" Yeah, a little weird. What else, what else, what else? We got some built-ins today! Before After
Don't they look beautiful? ( No, I didn't NOT make them. I'm lucky to be able to piece together some shelves) The musical I mentioned earlier is going pretty well. The play is being directed by one of the students here at Coram Deo (she's 18) and she is very organized and driven. There have been several fund-raising ways that we have done including: events at Sonic, Chick-Fil-A; patron letters; and I think there is going to be a garage sale. Anyway, the show has exceeded my expectations as the director (Ashley) actually bought the rights to the show (Once on this Island) and is going to rent out sound equipment, a stage, and has a professional donating costumes. Yikes, I didn't know it was going to be THIS big a deal. Not as large as a CYT performance but enough to expect from an 18-year-old girl. Bentley, our dog, is absolutely hilarious. He whines a lot and loves to play with the dog across the street. He's kinda quirky with his bent tail, a bit of a low-watt bulb, loveable, licky, and very gentle with Katie. A perfect dog for our family, I don't know what we would do without him. Year anniversary! One year ago I played Jafar. One year ago I got my Xanga. One of the major things that I am thankful for down here is a great church family: encouraging, loyal, caring, and above-all: dedicated to the preservation of God's word. They are completely intolerant of anything unbiblical and doctrinally unsound. My youth group leader is awesome as well, I don't think I've ever had this kind of a relationship with my youth leader or my senior pastor. The youth group, like the church, is small and consists of only about ten-to-twelve people, three of which (including Sean and I) are boys. There were some people who were praying for some guys in the youth group when we showed up. Even though there's a LOT that I could go off on, I think that I'll stop right here and end this post with: WAAAAHOOOOOO! Be faithful to Him, don't give up, and and don't resort to compromising. |
